Singing has always been at the core of who I am.

But it hasn’t always been easy.

From a young age, I was that kid who couldn’t stop humming melodies from Phantom of the Opera and the Star Wars soundtrack, dreaming of one day being on stage, sharing my voice with the world. Singing was EVERYTHING to me, and I poured my heart into it. For a while, everything seemed to be on track. I even earned a Master’s in Vocal Performance from Carnegie Mellon University and started working professionally.

But despite those early successes, there was always something missing.

My voice didn’t feel right—it felt unpredictable and unsteady, and deep down, I was scared. Scared that I wasn’t good enough. Scared that my voice wasn’t enough to achieve the dreams and goals I had set for myself.

I tried to push through, but it all came to a head when I was singing with the Grammy Award-winning Houston Chamber Choir. I had been given a solo for a music video—a dream opportunity—but my voice started to fail me. I couldn’t control it the way I wanted to, and it was obvious to everyone else in the group. The director had understandably had enough, and at the end of the rehearsal, in front of my colleagues, I had to re-audition for the solo.

I still remember that moment: standing there, vulnerable, feeling like all my hard work might not be enough. Though I kept the solo, the experience left me feeling ashamed and deeply frustrated.

For the first time, I questioned if I was really cut out for this.

Around the same time, I went through a painful breakup, and between my personal life and my struggles with my voice, I hit a low point. I even stopped singing for a while. It was as if my dreams had slipped through my fingers, and I wasn’t sure how—or if—I’d ever pick them back up.

That’s when everything changed.

During this tough period, I came across Jeanie Lovetri’s Somatic Voicework™ and began training with Doug Peck, a vocal coach based in Los Angeles. This method helped me reconnect with my voice in a way I hadn’t before. It wasn’t just about technique anymore—it was about understanding how my emotions, my body, and my voice were all connected. Singing became a form of expression again, and I started to feel that spark I’d had when I was younger, but with a deeper understanding of who I was and what I wanted to say.

Working with Doug in such a supportive and compassionate environment allowed me to grow in ways I hadn’t imagined.

I started to realize that my voice wasn’t just about making pretty sounds. It was about sharing who I am—my true, creative self—with the world. That shift was empowering, and it gave me the confidence to sing with purpose, without fear of judgment. Through this journey, I learned that my voice is more than just a tool—it’s an extension of me. And to really connect with others through music, I needed to connect with myself first.

That meant being vulnerable, being honest, and letting go of the fear of not being enough. When I stopped trying to sing the way I thought I should and started embracing what my voice could truly do, everything changed. It became about my own expression, my own voice, and no one else’s.

Now, I help other singers rediscover their voices in the same way.

Whether you’re singing “Dancing Through Life” on Broadway, “Country Roads” at the local coffee shop, or “Pink Pony Club” at karaoke with your friends, I will help you build your voice and your confidence so that you can handle whatever challenge comes your way.

With the right support, anyone can transform their voice and themselves. Singing is more than a skill; it’s an act of courage and self-expression. And I believe that when we tap into that, when we allow ourselves to sing with authenticity, we can change not only ourselves but the world around us.

If you’ve ever felt like your voice doesn’t reflect who you are, or you’re scared to put yourself out there again, I get it. I’ve been there. But I also know that with the right guidance, your voice can become the tool for self-expression you’ve always wanted it to be. Your dreams are still waiting for you, and this time, you’re ready to go after them with everything you’ve got.
